Engineering

The Engineering department translates the customers’ requirements into a functional system. The multidisciplinary engineering teams work under the leadership of project leaders, who monitor the scope, planning and budget.

The various disciplines within the Engineering department are necessary to translate the users’ requirements into functional specifications and the related layout and operating components. Based on these specifications, the disciplines produce global and detailed designs for the production of both hardware and software.

When the system is put into operation on site, all of the system’s components are integrated and commissioned according to prearranged plans. After each partial integration, the subsystem is tested prior to acceptance. This way, larger systems are delivered subsystem by subsystem under the leadership of a Process Integration Manager, after which the entire system is integrated and linked to the customer's existing systems. The entire system then undergoes stress tests under extreme conditions to make sure the system’s performance meets the user’s requirements.

In a multi-project environment, such as ours, the project’s result is of the utmost importance. The result is achieved through cooperation within your own team and with the customer’s team, by thinking out of the box and encouraging each other to do the best you can. Of course, we also expect you to grow to your full potential and to grab any opportunities that we, as a fast-growing and innovative company, can offer you with regard to personal development in technology or management.

It goes without saying that, in this international organisation, you will regularly travel abroad to anywhere in the world. Depending on your position, you will work on site at a customer’s location either for a short or a longer period of time. For example, Project Engineers will spend around 50% of their time working on site, whist Layout Engineers or Hardware Engineers will only spend about 10% of their time working on site. You will also understand that your pioneering spirit will be needed more for a project in, for example, Vietnam than for a project in Sydney.
